Psalms 45:1 - My heart overflows with a pleasing theme;
I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.

On Christ, The Solid Rock I Stand

I was in a season where I felt overwhelmed, drained, and tired. Then the Spirit of the Lord brought this Scripture to mind: “When I am overwhelmed, lead me to that rock that is higher than I.” You can find this Scripture in Psalm 61:2, which says, “From the end of the earth I call to You, when my heart is overwhelmed and weak; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I [a rock that is too high to reach without Your help].”

I love the song that says, “On Christ the solid rock I stand; All other ground is sinking sand!”

If you are in a dark place and feel distressed or grieving; if you feel like you are about to sink, fall, or die; if your heart is weak, faint, or feeble, and you are without strength, feeling hopeless and helpless, I want to encourage you to go to the Rock of your salvation, Yahshua of Nazareth, our living and eternal hope! I have found Him to be my Rock in a dry and weary land.

God is our eternal, unchangeable One, our everlasting strength, the Rock of Ages, and a sure refuge to all those who trust in Him through all generations; therefore, you may safely trust in Him, and that forever. We can find protection and defense at all times and in all conditions, no matter what we face or go through.

I thank the God of Israel, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, that the veil of the Temple has been torn from top to bottom, giving us direct access to the Holy of Holies! I thank God that there is no longer a need for animal sacrifices. We have a sacrificial Lamb who was slain from the very foundations of the world. Through the blood of our Great High Priest, we have access to the one true, living, and eternal King, to that Rock that is higher than I, a place where I can find safety, a place of refuge, a place of divine protection. A place where my enemies cannot approach or hurt me, where I am under the shadow of the Almighty’s care and protection. Only those who accept Jesus as their Savior can find this place and obtain this unspeakable peace and joy. In times of trouble, I run to the Rock of my salvation. He is my Rock and my fortress, a place where the righteous can run to and be safe!

Lastly, if Jesus is your Rock, when the cares, trials, tribulations, adversity, and troubles of this life come, and the rain descends, you won’t fall because you have made Him alone your “Rock.”

I pray that His supernatural, perfect, and divine peace will flow like a river through you!

Now immerse yourself and wash in the following scriptures:

Matthew 7:24-25 – “Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

Isaiah 26:3 – You keep in perfect peace one whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in Adonai forever, for the LORD Adonai is a Rock of ages.

Psalm 18:46 – The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

Psalm 27:5 – For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

Psalm 40:2 – He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

Deuteronomy 32:4 – He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.

1 Samuel 13:6. – When my heart is overwhelmed; or covered with grief and sorrow for any trouble, outward or inward, and ready to sink, and fail and die.

Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalm 28:1 – A Psalm of David. To You I will cry, O LORD my Rock: Do not be silent to me, lest, if You are silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit.

2 Samuel 22:2 – And he said “The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;

2 Samuel 22:47 – “The LORD lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let God be exalted, The Rock of my salvation!

Psalm 62:1-2 Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.

Psalm 62:5-8 – My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.
