Approaching the New Year of 2024, it is important to shake off and let go of every burden. So, let’s forget about those things which are behind and reach toward those things which are ahead. I resolve not to carry any grief, unforgiveness, or negative baggage into my new year. I encourage you to do the same. We can’t afford to miss a single blessing or promise that God Almighty has in store for us.
While going through my old emails, I came across a message from a dear Rabbi friend dating back to 2015. In that email, he shared how he experienced healing from allergies and other issues after reading a particular book. He explained that some illnesses have spiritual roots, which intrigued me. I sensed the Lord guiding me to watch a few of the doctor’s videos he mentioned. After watching a few of the videos, it became clear that I needed to search my heart to make sure that I wasn’t harboring unforgiveness, anger, resentment or bitterness. Sometimes, without realizing it, we can unintentionally carry this negative baggage. The doctor’s name is Dr. Henry Wright, and I found his messages interesting and intriguing. This revelation prompted me to embark on doing some self-reflection and examination of my own heart. It is always beneficial to take inventory of our lives and hearts, aiming to be pleasing to Yahweh, our heavenly Father. I consistently ask the Lord to create in me a clean heart and renew the right spirit within me (Hebrew 12:1). I ask Him to remove anything that’s not pleasing to Him from my heart. I thank the Lord Y’shua that I don’t harbor hatred towards anyone, although there may be individuals whose ways I simply dislike. I confess this scripture often; I lay aside every weight and sin that so easily besets me. Another scripture that I love comes from 1 Peter 5:7 – Casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully], I cast my cares upon you because you care for me.
The number 24 symbolizes perfect government manifested and is associated with the priesthood. It represents a door that grants access to the sanctuary of God and being encircled by Him. In the Temple, there were 24 priests who served. Surrounding the throne, there were twenty-four additional thrones, and upon each of them, twenty-four elders were seated. The clock encompasses 24 hours, representing a full day. Being a multiple of 12, it inherits some of the meanings associated with 12, signifying God’s power, authority, and a perfect foundation, but in an elevated form. Twenty-four is also closely connected with the worship of God, particularly at Jerusalem’s temple.
I pray everyone has a blessed and extraordinary new year as we fix our gaze on Christ—Lover and Keeper of our souls’, the Author and Finisher of our faith. He is the eternal one who was, who is, and who is to come. Blessed be His glorious name and Kingdom! He shall reign forever and ever! Hallelujah King Y’shua!!
