In a world often overshadowed by negativity and cold-heartedness, it is essential to pause and reflect on the good people that exist. I would like to acknowledge the individuals who embody the teachings of kindness and compassion as outlined in the Holy Bible.
I would like to give a special thank you to those who are striving to live right and treat people like they would like to be treated. It has not gone unnoticed. These individuals, through their actions and words, exemplify the essence of empathy, understanding, and love. In a world where selfishness and indifference can often prevail, their commitment to treating others with respect and dignity is truly commendable.
Luke 6:31 – Do to others as you would have them do to you.
When you must deal with the ugliness and cruelty of some individuals, it can be all too easy to lose sight of the good ones that also exists in the world. Recently, my perspective was shaken by witnessing such coldness of hearts which the scriptures warn us about. However, in those moments, the Lord brought to mind various individuals who He used to show me His glorious love.
Just the other day, when my thoughts were consumed by negativity about people and feeling burnt out, I recalled a special person we affectionately call our “white grandpa.” This memory takes me back to a visit to a congregation a few years ago. An elderly gentleman warmly welcomed us at the door. During our interaction, I shared with him the recent loss of my father. In that moment, the love of Christ radiated from him as he prayed for us, showered us with affection, and offered words of encouragement. It was a truly beautiful and impactful encounter that I will never forget. Have you ever left this kind of impact on a person?
Indeed, the Lord has a way of sending individuals into our lives who reflect His love. I have been blessed to experience several of these divine encounters where the presence of the Father’s love is palpable. These moments are etched in my memory and will never be forgotten!
The Scriptures remind us of the importance of treating others with love and respect, treating others like you would treat yourself. Amidst the chaos and trials of life, these individuals stand out as beacons of hope, showing empathy, forgiveness, and understanding.
It is easy to be consumed by the memories of negative encounters, by the actions of those who choose darkness over light, evil over good and hate over love. Every so often, God graciously reminds me that there are many who remain faithful and steadfast, just as He revealed to the Prophet Elijah that there were seven thousand who had not bowed their knees to Baal or kiss him. Hallelujah!
As we navigate the complexities of life, let us take a moment to express our gratitude for these good people who are making the world a better place, for the love and light they bring into our lives and the world. Let us never take them for granted and remember that their presence serves as a testament to God’s love.
In a world where negativity often looms large, let us choose to focus on the positive, to celebrate the good people who walk among us. May their example inspire us to cultivate kindness, compassion, and love in our own lives, spreading the love of Christ wherever we go.
May we hold onto these precious encounters and the assurance that goodness and love prevail, even in the midst of darkness and despair.
1 Kings 19:18 – Yet I have left [myself] seven thousand in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth that hath not kissed him.
