What Happened After the Pentecost Celebration?

After Jesus’ resurrection and ascension, the disciples waited in Jerusalem as Jesus had instructed them. There, they received the promised outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which empowered them to continue the work of proclaiming the Gospel (Acts 1-2). Filled with the Holy Spirit, the disciples performed extraordinary and extravagant miracles that demonstrated God’s power and confirmed the truth of their message.

The miracles demonstrate the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise to send the Holy Spirit to empower His followers (Acts 1:8). The disciples were able to perform these remarkable signs, wonders and miracles because they were filled with the Holy Spirit.

Here are some of the key miracles described in the book of Acts:

Healing the Lame Man at the Temple Gate (Acts 3:1-10)
Peter and John encountered a man who had been lame from birth. In the name of Jesus Christ, they commanded him to walk, and the man was instantly healed, leaping and praising God. This miracle drew a crowd, providing an opportunity for Peter to preach about Jesus.

Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5:1-11)
When a couple named Ananias and Sapphira lied about the proceeds from the sale of their property, God supernaturally struck them dead. This dramatic judgment highlighted the holiness of the early church and the authority of the apostles.

Healing through Peter’s Shadow (Acts 5:12-16)
The Bible records that people were being healed and delivered from evil spirits simply by the passing of Peter’s shadow. This demonstrated the extraordinary power of God working through the apostles.

Healing the Paralytic (Acts 9:32-35)
While visiting the believers in Lydda, Peter healed a man named Aeneas who had been paralyzed and bedridden for eight years. This miracle led many in the region to turn to the Lord.

Raising Dorcas from the Dead (Acts 9:36-42)
In Joppa, Peter raised a disciple named Dorcas from the dead after she had died. This remarkable resurrection demonstrated the power of God working through the apostles.

Healing the Lame Man in Lystra (Acts 14:8-10)
During Paul and Barnabas’ missionary journey, they encountered a man in Lystra who had been lame from birth. Paul commanded him to stand up, and the man was miraculously healed and began walking.

These miracles, performed in the power of the Holy Spirit, authenticated the gospel message and helped draw many people to faith in Jesus Christ.

May we continually witness the abundant manifestation of your miracle-working power and glorious presence in the mighty and powerful name of Y’shua (Jesus)!
