Psalms 45:1 - My heart overflows with a pleasing theme;
I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.

Valley of Weeping

There are times when I’m going through a difficult situation, my flesh is tempted to say where are you, Lord?  However, before I can totally go there, the scripture comes to mind that He promised never to leave or forsake me!  It is irrelevant what my mind, flesh or emotions say or feel. What truly matters is what the Word of Yahweh says about my situation.  Having said that, on today, I heard this scripture in my spirit – My tears have been my meat night and day as they say to me where is my God (Psalm 42).  King David appears to be dealing with grief at being shut out from God’s presence. His tears took the place of food.  Instead of eating, he wept.  There are times when excessive sorrow can take away one’s appetite and diminish the desire for food.  As others took pleasure in eating and drinking, so he was altogether given to weeping; implying that He had felt forsaken by his God. We see that Hannah also wept and couldn’t eat due to her grief (1 Samuel 1:7-8).

Day and night, David was constantly in tears; without intermission. He felt utterly forsaken and abandoned by His God. despite his unwavering trust and professed friendship with Him. David had always relied on God as his protector, but now he experienced a deep sense of being forsaken.  He feels as though God is disregarding him, as if he no longer holds any significance in His heart and lacks the assurance of His care or well-being. Such a state is incredibly distressing and far from pleasant.

Psalm 80:5 – Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.

The people inquired about the whereabouts of his God. The one that he so often boasted about.    The God known for His ability to aid those who place their trust in Him and invoke His great and extraordinary promises. It appears that He was absent and had abandoned him without any reason or explanation, failing to provide any response or offer an explanation.  It brings to mind the scripture that states, “God is in heaven and does whatsoever He pleases” (Psalm 115:2).

In closing, I recently heard a Pastor talking about the Valley of Baca which is found in Psalm 84:6 – “Passing through the Valley of Weeping (Baca), they make it a place of springs; The early rain also covers it with blessings.”  Be assured that whatever crisis or trouble you are currently going through will pass.  Yes, this too shall pass.  Trouble don’t last always! There are numerous promises in the Holy Scriptures for those who sow in tears, for they shall reap joy. The Lord promises us that weeping endures but a night, but joy will come in the morning. It is comforting to know that God collects our tears in a bottle, symbolizing His care and attentiveness to our pain and sorrow.

 You’ve kept track of all my wandering and my weeping. You’ve stored my many tears in your bottle—not one will be lost. For they are all recorded in your book of remembrance (Psalm 56:8).

You are indeed, passing through your season of weeping. Times of refreshing and a season of blessings, like rain is coming upon you now in Y’shua’s mighty name! Thank God Almighty that trials and tribulations are seasonal.
