Psalms 45:1 - My heart overflows with a pleasing theme;
I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.

Someone Greater Than Jonah is Here!

So, I learned that a man of God named Floyd Lawhon had passed away. I hadn’t heard much about him before, not seeing him on television or anything like that, but I had heard stories of how he would lay his Bible on people, and they would be overcome by the power of God. Intrigued, I decided to research and find some video footage of him, and I did. I was deeply moved by this man of God as I listened to him speak. As tears streamed down my face, overwhelmed by the profound presence of God and His undeniable power, an unexpected feeling of being cheated washed over me. The intensity of the moment heightened my awareness that this extraordinary man had remained concealed from us all this time. Pondering the reasons behind my unfamiliarity with him and my missed opportunities to attend his meetings truly saddened me. These thoughts consumed me for at least two days, until the Lord spoke to my spirit and said, ‘Someone greater than him is here.’ Hallelujah! And we know that someone is Y’shua Hamashiach. All Hail King JESUS! He doesn’t want us to be consumed or excessively excited about any man.

Jesus told the people that something greater than Jonah is here!

– The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.

Matthew 14:21

In one particular interview, Lawhon spoke about how he used to pray for three hours a day. He also shared a testimony of how when he was much younger, a pastor laid his Bible over his chest injury, and he was miraculously healed. He had been reluctant to discuss how the Lord led him to lay the Holy Bible on people, as he had encountered significant criticism in the past. In another video, a man mentioned that he had been a catcher for him, and how just being in his presence would make it difficult to stand. The atmosphere would shift whenever he entered a place. I tell you the truth, there is nothing like the presence of the Holy One of Israel!

Lawhon talked passionately about how pastors need to allow the Lord to speak and how they should shut up and let Him in, allowing Him to have His way. I wholeheartedly agree! Throughout his ministry, he witnessed numerous miracles, signs, wonders and salvations.

There is indeed a remnant who yearn for the one, true, and living God and who are desperate for Him and Him alone. We are in great anticipation and expectation of an outpouring of His spirit and the manifestation of His glory. Many people have grown weary of church as usual and the repetitive same ole stale conferences. Kudos to the churches that not only house the Lord and His divine presence, but also allow the Holy Spirit to have His way.

I am grateful to the Lord for the life of this precious pillar of faith and faithful servant. My prayers go out to his family, friends and the countless individuals whose lives were profoundly impacted by his ministry. Although I only recently learned about him, there is no doubt that his absence will create a significant void, and his presence will be sorely missed.
