Psalms 45:1 - My heart overflows with a pleasing theme;
I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.

How to Get Special Treatment from the God of ALL gods!

As we approach the end of our annual Bible plan for 2023, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for the New Year when we will embark on the plan once again. All praises to our living, eternal and everlasting King Y’shua Hamashiach (Jesus, the Messiah)! Currently, One particular passage that deeply resonates with me is Malachi 1:6-8, which emphasizes the significance of honoring God as a son honors his father and a servant honors his master. It poses a thought-provoking question from the LORD of hosts to the priests who disregard His name: “If I am a Father, where is My honor? And if I am a Master, where is My reverence?”  They dishonored the LORD of hosts by bringing Him polluted, lame and blemished offerings which was totally unacceptable.

This passage reminds me of a powerful message I had the privilege of delivering during my time ministering at a church. It prompted reflection on the importance of giving due honor and reverence to our Heavenly Father. Another scripture that wrecked me today was the mention of a book of remembrance in which God records the names of those who honor and fear Him.

Then those who feared the LORD [with awe-filled reverence] spoke to one another; and the LORD paid attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who fear the LORD [with an attitude of reverence and respect] and who esteem His name. Malachi 3:16

Just take a moment to ponder that.

Our honor and loyalty should unquestionably be directed towards the one true and living God, the God of Israel! When we choose to honor and have reverential fear of God and live right and according to His teachings, He promises us abundant blessings and treats us with special favor. However, His promises come with conditions. If we neglect His teachings, fail to honor and fear Him, we will experience the opposite. We will be subject to curses, which can even affect future generations. It’s a sobering thought.

The Difference Between Serving God and Not Serving Him

I find great inspiration in the words of Malachi 3:17-18, which beautifully illustrate the special treatment that await those who honor and serve God:
“Verses 17-18: God-of-the-Angel-Armies said, ‘They’re mine, all mines. They’ll get special treatment when I go into action. I treat them with the same consideration and kindness that parents give the child who honors them. Once more you’ll see the difference it makes between being a person who does the right thing and one who doesn’t, between serving God and not serving him.'”

These verses convey the profound truth that God cherishes and values those who honor and serve Him. In His divine wisdom and love, God promises to bestow special favor upon those who remain faithful and obedient. It serves as a powerful reminder of the stark difference between those who choose to do what is right and those who do not, and the ultimate reward that awaits those who wholeheartedly serve God.

The imagery of a loving parent treating their honorable child with kindness and consideration emphasizes the depth of God’s care for His faithful followers. This verse underscores the significance of our actions and choices, highlighting the transformative power of serving and honoring God in our lives.

If you find yourself feeling weak and weary, I want to offer you words of encouragement. Do not lose heart in doing good, for the Holy Scriptures provide us with the assurance that if we persist and do not give up, we will harvest supernatural and extraordinary blessings. Let us remain unwavering in our commitment to follow God’s Word and may the reality of this truth manifest powerfully in our lives.
